Seeing in Color:

The Symbolism of Color in Sandplay Therapy

Trainings and Workshops

Our last Sandplay Workshop - See what you missed!!

Workshop Description:

Sandplay is a treatment of choice in our work with developmental trauma because it gradually and tolerably weaves pieces of fragmented psychic experience back together and anchors them in the body. As trauma is gradually unearthed, sandplay soothes the soul and reveals to us images of inner experience that are nearly unreachable through more ordinary means.

We will explore the nature of developmental trauma, the specific advantages of using sandplay in trauma work, and the integrative power of relationship within the four archetypal relational fields (Cunningham, 2013). The energies and images constellated in Relational Fields One and Two (the two more primitive relational fields) reveal distinct qualities of trauma and require a specific kind of therapist attunement. Case material reveals the healing power of sandplay with dissociation—a hallmark of trauma—and the integrative power of full attunement in the free and protected space.

*This workshop counts as 6 hours of instruction towards becoming a Sandplay Practitioner or Clinical member of Sandplay Therapists of America (www.sandplay.org). Participants also have the option to earn 6 CEs - sponsored by Pacific Quest. www.pacificquest.org Pacific Quest is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.
